family fashion

I would like to start the first post by sharing a little about myself.  I am a self-professed Do-it-Yourselfer.   As long as I can remember I have always found joy and pleasure in making things.  It has often served as a stress reliever. I designed and sewed my first outfit when I was about 11.  My favorite cousin and I made a dress from a pink and green bed sheet for a neighborhood dance performance.

I have tried to make all sorts of things such as clothes, curtains, cornice boards, flower arrangements and I even refinish and paint furniture.  Creating things allow me to express different sides of my personality. As time has passed I started to wonder what my purpose was, what are my gifts.  At one point in my life, I would say that everyone else is gifted but not me, I don’t have a gift. It was my husband that helped me to realize that I was wrong.  I started to look inside at what I was naturally drawn to or good at doing. Now, this took a little time but eventually, it became crystal clear. So, I set out to fulfill my purpose regardless of the challenges that I may encounter.

After 2 years of researching, learning and doing sometimes not in that order, I feel finally liberated because I am no longer “talking about it but being about it”. What makes it all worthwhile is knowing you are meant to do whatever it is that you are doing.  This blog will be dedicated to every woman that wants to make themselves better in some way. It can be to learn how to sew, fashion, apply makeup, communicate effectively, or decorate. The subtitle of this blog is called TOTALLY YOU FROM ORDINARY TO EXTRAORDINARY.  I have always dreamed of looking a certain way when it came to fashion but I could never find what I was looking for in stores the expressed my spirit. Shopping became a chore and not a luxury. Therefore I decided to start my own clothing line and I invite you to follow me on my journey.  Strap on your seat belt and enjoy the ride!
